Dupuytren's contracture is one of four conditions which tend to occur together. The other three conditions are Ledderhose disease, frozen shoulder and, in men, Peyronie's disease. Minimally invasive resources for these problems are listed below. Medications: The following sites have information on clinical trials of medications for Dupuytren's disease:
Peyronie's Disease results in penile curvature which can result in painful erections. An expert in the nonsurgical treatment of Peyronie's disease is Dr. Laurence Levine, Professor of Urology at Rush University Medical Center
A minimally invasive needle release treatment for Peyronie's disease has been reported by Khouaja et. al. in Paris, referred to as the Leriche Technique.
Ledderhose Disease (Plantar fibromatosis) results in hard lumps in the sole of the foot, usually in the arch next to the ball of the foot. Podiatrist Dr. Terry Spilken offers minimally invasive cryotherapy for this condition:
Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive capsulitis) produces a stiff, painful shoulder. Treatment is controversial, and options include therapy, injection, arthroscopy and open surgery. There is no agreement on the best treatment, let alone, the best minimally invasive treatment. If you find information regarding minimally invasive treatment for frozen shoulder and wish to share it with the Dupuytren community, Please contact The Hand Center.
